Factors influencing the livelihood strategy choices of rural households in tourist destinations

Identifying the influence factors lie behind livelihood choices of rural households are crucial significance for improving sustainable livelihoods in tourism regions. Five villages Sa Pa District, Vietnam, were selected this study, to conduct household surveys and interviews with 180 households. Based on this, a comprehensive approach, which includes multinomial/binary logistic regression, Ripley’s function, geographical detector, is applied understand households’ capital endowment their choices. Results show that households, yields highest income, but lack diversity activities may make more vulnerable external risk shocks than balanced Different types found clustering feature, degree ranking as: agricultural > labour. Households natural less likely choose other agriculture livelihood. And financial engage Both social can facilitate engagement key livelihood, barrier impeding participate activities.
